Stephen D Orsini
Stephen D Orsini grew up in the San Juan Islands of Washington State and graduated with a BA in English Literature (actually majored in Irish Literature) and then scrambled to get a career that actually paid the bills. He never stopped writing. During college summers, he fished commercially on purse seiners in Southeast and Kodiak Alaska. He has sailed extensively. With articles published in National Fisherman, Oceans, The Compass, Sailing, and Sailing World, he saved the notes from the delivery he made of one of the first king crab vessels from Bender Marine in Mobile, Alabama to Seattle via the Panama Canal for this first full length book, Nightmare on the Scottie. This is not a book about king crab fishing but a non-fiction memoir about going to sea and coming of age.
