From a young age, he has exhibited a passion for learning and a drive to make a difference in his community. Despite facing systemic barriers and societal pressures, Bassett excelled academically, received accolades for his achievements. His journey took him to a university, where he pursued a passion for community activism. After graduating the police academy, Bassett returned to Mobile with a mission to uplift marginalized voices and empower the next generation. Through grassroots organizing and advocacy work, he became a beacon of hope for his community, inspiring positive change and fostering unity. Today, Bassett continues to be a driving force for progress, working tirelessly to create a more equitable society for all. His story serves as a testament to the power of resilience, determination, and the enduring spirit of the human heart.
Ron Butler is a Los Angeles-based actor, Earphones Award-winning audiobook narrator, and voice artist with over a hundred film and television credits. Most kids will recognize him from the three seasons he spent on Nickelodeon's True Jackson, VP. He works regularly as a commercial and animation voice-over artist and has voiced a wide variety of audiobooks. He is a member of the Atlantic Theater Company and an Independent Filmmaker Project Award winner for his work in the HBO film Everyday People.
