Alice and Hunt

(Author)
Description
Love is sometimes found in the strangest of places. Alice and Hunt have been best friends for over seven years. Something pure exists between them; like two babies sharing a crib, brother and sister; soul mates, connected by something they don't understand. Living in a world where love isn't highly regarded they use sex with random strangers as a justification for their lives; an instantly gratifying distraction that hides them from themselves. The illusion of a friendship fractures and breaks down. Hunt tries to understand his emotions but lacks the moral fortitude to embrace these new feelings. A personal journey starts for him. He tries to understand the person he's become. Slowly he chips away at the facade that shrouds from him from the truth. He loves Alice. A love he knows will come at a cost. In a world made up of sex, drugs and dubious morality can two people fall love or will they end up losing what little they already had.

I was born in Newcastle in the early eighties. My mother, a political activist, instilled the power of words in me from a young age. Leaving high school I enrolled in fine arts at Newcastle University. During my last year I took a hairdressing job Sydney. This was the start of an amazing career. After a decade engrained in the fashion world, I decided I was meant for more. I packed up and headed back to my hometown to write eighty hours a week with my first success shortlisted for the Lane Cove Literary Award. J.C.Taylor
