Floods are a scary force of nature. They can happen incredibly quickly, cause a lot of damage, and leave water behind for a long time. For those who live in flood-prone areas, preparation is key. This book offers tips to prepare for a flood in addition to exploring the main causes of floods, from flash floods to those that occur during hurricanes. Full-color photographs accompany the Earth science text to highlight some of the worst floods in recent years. Information about how climate change is changing floods is also included.
