About the Author
Giles Sparrow studied astronomy at University College, London and science communication at Imperial College, London. He has acted as a consultant on and contributor to numerous popular science books. He is the author of several books, including The Universe and How to See It (Reader's Digest) and the Exploring the Solar System series (Heinemann), and was a major contributor to Universe: The Definitive Visual Guide (Dorling Kindersley).
Judith John is a writer and editor specializing in literature and history. A former secondary school English Language and Literature teacher, she has subsequently worked as an editor on major educational projects, including English A: Literature for the Pearson International Baccalaureate series. Judith's major research interests include Romantic and Gothic literature, and Renaissance drama.
Over the course of his two-decade career as an author and editor, Chris McNab has written more than 100 titles, primarily focused on historical and military topics. His titles include: Weapons of War: AK47, 20th-Century Small Arms, A History of the World in 100 Weapons, The Illustrated History of the Vietnam War, The Book of the Poppy and Hitler's Fortresses. In addition to his writing work, Chris has made regular contributions on radio and television.
