About the Author
Elizabeth Sims has written for such publications as Southern Living, National Geographic Traveler, and Garden & Gun Magazine. She is past president of the Southern Foodways Alliance and was formerly an executive with The Biltmore Company in Asheville, NC. She is currently director of marketing for Tupelo Honey and she is also co-author of Tupelo Honey Cafe: Spirited Recipes From Asheville's New South Kitchen (Andrews McMeel, 2011), along with Executive Chef Brian Sonoskus, who is also co-author of the restaurant's second cookbook.

A graduate of Johnson and Wales, chef Brian Sonoskus is attuned to the freshness of the season by being a farmer himself. Sunshot farm, just north of Asheville, provides the Tupelo restaurants with seasonal vegetables, berries, flowers, and herbs, while the restaurants partner with other area farms and farmers to create a true taste of southern Appalachia.
Reviews
"An ultrafamous eatery in Asheville, North Carolina, Tupelo Honey Cafe represents the "mountain South," and this latest collection of 125 recipes, beautifully photographed and packaged, is surprisingly vegetable driven."

(ForeWord Review)
"...a fun cookbook to read, and a great way to put together some 'new south' menu items of your own, no matter how far north you may be geographically"

"...the recipes represent the sense of fun melded with down-home good eating that you find in this part of the country." (Tara Fitzpatrick, Food Management Magazine)
"...a delightful spinoff of an iconic restaurant..."

"...imaginative recipes, colorful stories and photographs inspired by the flavors and history along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the book is a must-have for Southern cooks." (Heather McPherson, Orlando Sentinel)
"...the cookbook is plump as a pig with recipes from the famous Tupelo Honey Cafe in Asheville, NC" (Lorraine Eaton, Virginian Pilot)
