Reviews

"With a complex plot and unusual structure...Biswas' second Blue Mumbai thriller captures both the diversity and tumult of its unique setting. A compelling procedural awash in crosscurrents." --Kirkus Reviews

"Mumbai during monsoon season provides a fine backdrop to this well-written thriller." --Mystery & Suspense Magazine

"Social constructs, family relationships, religion, and politics flawlessly come together in this stunner of a thriller. With the pulsing heart of Mumbai at its center and Damyanti Biswas's lush, rich writing, The Blue Monsoon is a terrifying, mesmerizing ride with a shock in every chapter. Biswas has created an astonishing cast of characters who collide in a seismic conclusion that will rock you to your core. An exceptional read!" --Samantha M. Bailey, USA Today and #1 national bestselling author of Woman on the Edge and Watch Out of Her

"Damyanti Biswas once again transports us to Mumbai and the gritty, richly emotional world of police inspector Arnav Singh Rajput, this time investigating a ritual murder on the steps of a local temple. The Blue Monsoon is crime fiction at its best--textured, colorful, and utterly absorbing. An absolute must-read from a remarkable talent." --Kimberly Belle, internationally bestselling author of The Personal Assistant

"Damyanti Biswas writes like a relentless detective, exploring and exposing the intricacies of Mumbai. The Blue Monsoon is reminiscent of The Wire in the way it seamlessly moves across sections of society, or in the way Biswas chronicles her resolute detectives, the strength of their families, or even the emotional complications of her dangerous criminals. This is more than an excellent crime novel, although it is that - this is a statement from a powerful writer as she firmly establishes her place in crime fiction. Readers will want more Blue Mumbai thrillers." --E.A. Aymar, author of No Home for Killers
