Romy Wyllie is an honorary alumna of the California Institute of Technology where she co-founded and led an architectural tour service for thirty-three years. Wyllie had her own interior design business for thirty-five years and is a professional member of the International Interior Design Association. She is also a member of the Society of Architectural Historians, the Zamorano Club, and a reader at the Huntington Library. Wyllie began writing in her mid-sixties and has published four books: three on architecture and interior design, Caltech's Architectural Heritage: From Spanish Tile to Modern Stone (Balcony Press, Los Angeles 2000); Bertram Goodhue: His Life and Residential Architecture, (W. W. Norton, New York & London 2007); and a monograph on Interior Designer Eva Maddox: Designer, Educator, Innovator (Images Publishing Group, Australia 2017). In November 2012, Wyllie moved away from architectural histories to document the life of her son in Loving Andrew: A Fifty-Two-Year Story of Down Syndrome. This book has received eight awards. Wyllie has a Master of Arts degree from the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, and diplomas in Business Practices and Interior Design.
