Reviews

These stories of how a family comes together and is undone, how the people we love leave and stay, how the reverberations of what happened way-back-when retain the power to shake us to cores today, now forever -- Leslie Pietrzyk, author of Silver Girl and This Angel on My Chest.

With the propulsion of a great novel and the density of a poem, Bock skillfully guides us back and forth through time and into the hearts of a myriad of characters, the most affecting an Italian woman, her Jewish husband, and their progeny. These stories, varying in length and form, cohere, largely because we always know where we are, right at the center of Bock's big beating heart." -- Michelle Brafman, author of Betrand Court, Washing the Dead, and Swimming with Ghosts.
