About the Author
Philippe Collin holds a master's degree in contemporary history devoted to the purging of collaborators during the Liberation. Since 1999, he has been a producer and author of programs for television and radio, including the now-cult Panique au Mangin Palace on France Inter, and Personne ne bouge broadcast by ARTE. Today, his weekly program on France Inter, L'oeil du tigre, combines sport and history. Cartoonist and author of comics, Sébastien Goethals is known for his work in adapting detective stories and genre stories, including Le Temps des sauvages, based on Thomas Gunzig's novel, Manuel de survie à l'usage des incapables. He published, in collaboration with Philippe Collin, Le Voyage de Marcel Grob, which was awarded the Prix Historia 2019 and the Prix Découverte 2020 at the Angoulême International Festival.

American Library Association Graphic Novels and Comics Round Table: Nominated for Best Graphic Novels for Adults 2022

"'For war has no power to transform; it merely exaggerates the good and evil that are in us...' This quote, by Lord Charles Moran, is dramatically explored by Philippe Collin and Sébastien Goethals' riveting story of Marcel Grob, a French teen conscripted into the dreaded Waffen SS during the last desperate months of WWII." --Carl Potts, adjunct professor, School of Visual Arts, Academy of Art University, Pace University, former writer, artist and executive editor at Marvel Comics and Epic Comics

"The Journey of Marcel Grob is an unforgettable account of World War II, its consequences, and the impossible decisions that were faced within its grasp." --Foreword Reviews, Starred Review

"The minimalist monochromatic artwork is beautiful, and the storytelling is great . . . this is a book that I highly recommend for history buffs as this part of the war is generally not looked at by many historians." -- Arcadia Pod
