Stories of a Colorful World is an online children's bookstore that focuses on carrying books featuring Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) characters by authors of color. Why focus on BIPOC characters & BIPOC authors?  While the number of books published with diverse characters or content has increased since 2014 to 31%, only 7% of those books are being written by authors of those diverse groups.   These books teach our kids that they matter and help them develop empathy and understanding for others, written by people uniquely positioned to tell the stories.
