I’m Saxon Henry, an author, journalist and content strategist. My most recent book The Modern Salonnière is a collection of essays combining my love of travel, reading, and creative writing. Until the pandemic hit, I had no idea how valuable it would be as an armchair travel escape. I am currently working on the next manuscript that will have the same flavor as The Modern Salonnière but with a different cast of characters hitting their marks on the world stage of history. My latest books could not have been possible without my 20+ years as a journalist. I have written for a number of national shelter and travel publications, as well as for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and Robb Report. I call the town in which I grew up, Chattanooga, Tennessee, home now but I am a New Yorker at heart, the nearly two decades living and traveling from there important to my development as a writer.
