Nate Miller is a professor of Horticulture and Biology at Piedmont Virginia Community College. He is owner of Simply Sustainable Landscaping which focuses on native, edible and historical landscapes and works with Messer Landscapes of Staunton, VA. Nate graduated from Bridgewater College with a BA degree in Art and a concentration in Environmental Science and Clemson University with a Masters in Landscape Architecture. He was one of the youngest submitters to the World Trade Center and Flight 93 Memorial competitions in 2003 and 2004. Nate also designed the first major green cemetery in Virginia, Duck Run Cemetery in 2011. His authored books include: Simply Sustainable: Creating Ecological and Edible Landscapes using the EONS Theory of Landscaping for the SE USA (2020) and Youth Gone Wild: The History of the Underground Music Scene of Harrisonburg, VA 1996-2008. (2012).
