Jeff Hecht's books

Jeff Hecht writes about science and technology. He has written several books on laser and fiber-optic technology, and on the histories of lasers and fiber optics. He also has written books for young readers. His book City of Light: The Story of Fiber Optics is part of the Sloan Technology Series. Understanding Fiber Optics has gone through five editions and sold more than 100,000 copies. He is a fellow of Optica (formerly the Optical Society), a senior life member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and a member of the National Association of Science Writers. He holds a B.S. degree in engineering from the California Institute of Technology.
