Jane Brunette
Jane Brunette teaches and writes about meditation, spirituality and creating a soulful life in challenging times. She created Writing from the Soul, an approach to writing that has sprouted groups around the world, and she mentors individuals in writing and spiritual practice. Trained as a psychotherapist and Buddhist teacher with a deep affinity for Christian mysticism and indigenous perspectives, she has traveled widely to challenge her social conditioning, living simply in cultures where this is still possible to free her time and her mind for contemplation and retreat. She is the author of two collections of spiritual poetry as well as an award-winning novel, Lineage of the Trees. Her websites are writingfromthesoul.net and flamingseed.com.
"I consider my books artifacts from my spiritual practice. They weren’t originally written for an audience, but to help me understand and integrate some of what is baffling about being a human alive at this time. It helped me to write them, and my hope is that they might inspire you to deepen your own spiritual and creative explorations — maybe even make a book of your own. My latest book, Lineage of the Trees, is what I call a soul story: a novel that is true in the way that dreams are true, based on personal history, as well as collective and spiritual themes that have run through my life. It recently won a Nautilus Award, which honors books that contribute to conscious living, social change, green values and spiritual growth."
