Abdul Fattah Ismail is a spoken word artist based in Brooklyn, New York.
Extended Syllables is his poetry book debut, introduced at the Bowery Poetry Club in January 2016. It is available for sale in print and audiobook. The audiobook features the voices of himself, Madi Dangerously, and Lady Miss Kier.
He has participated in over thirty interactive readings with musicians and disc jockeys, impacting the streets of New York.
Extended Syllables is more than a culmination of poems from life experience. It captures a wide, deconstructed lens of New York and other world travels. It goes far, far deeper than human sensibilities shaped from physical interaction. It is about opening up your mind, then your heart, to feel the truth from within your soul.
The poems analyze, reflect, then attempt to mold better societal blocks with good partnerships. Ambition followed with execution results in consciousness and enlightenment reigning supreme. When they do reign supreme, then true relationships between art, fashion, music, politics, and technology are routine.
