Drenched In Light
Genay here!
A note about the name, “Drenched in Light”: I wrote my senior thesis in undergrad on the life and work of Ms Zora Neale and fell terribly, madly in love. Never had I encountered someone so fascinating, so fearless, so true to themselves. One of her short stories, Drenched in Light, stuck out to me, in particular. The image it offers is captivating. In this world, I want to be a person who is drenched in light. I have twin daughters, one Zora (lol), which actually means “dawn,” and one Suhaila, which means “gentle spirit” in some translations, and “star” in others. All light! And, they are indeed.
