The BCLF is here to blaze a trail for the literary output of Caribbean writers in diaspora communities. We are passionate about the development of the Caribbean reading culture and ensuring that the rich storytelling tradition of our ancestors, our islands and our people lives on. What this means is that for our culture to thrive we must support Caribbean writers - the very gatekeepers of knowledge and the mirrors with which we examine ourselves and the worlds around us. Caribbean writers have shaped and changed the world.

In keeping with our commitment to the Caribbean writer (those born in the islands and those connected by generational ancestry) we have begun the work of curating and collecting classic and contemporary titles that we believe must find homes in the developing or established libraries of all readers who are enthusiastic about Caribbean culture, literature and reading.
