A Likely Story

A Likely Story, located in Midway, Ky, is owned and operated by mother-daughter duo Ashlee and Anagail (Annie) Denington. The idea for a local independent bookstore was born in 2018 after Annie developed a neurologic disorder that drastically changed her plans for her future. Due to the global covid pandemic, their plans were modified. Originally hoping to open a store front, they opted to open an online bookstore first, as they continued to work through the process of opening a brick-and-mortar store during the pandemic. As of April 2023, their brick-and-mortar is open for business complete with new and "loved" books as well as gifts and other novelty items. All books purchased through our online store are new and ship directly to you.

Gift cards purchased through Bookshop must be redeemed through our online ordering page. Gift cards purchased in store or on our main website through Square must be redeemed in store. Sorry for the inconvenience!
