Hi there! I’m so glad you found me here!
My name is Christin and I am the designer & author behind the resources and content you will find at A Happy Learner. You can check out my blog here.
I started my TpT store in 2013 when I began my CF year in Speech-Language Pathology. I often joke that I was thrown straight to the wolves for my first year: middle school. I struggled at times to find materials that were both thorough & effective and age-appropriate, so I began designing my own. After a few years with pre-schoolers and elementary students, I found myself again with middle and high schoolers. And I’ll be honest – I’ll take my older kiddos over preschool & elementary any day! Both in my daily therapy and in my material design, I appreciate the art of working with and designing for older students.
Although I love my job as a public school SLP, I, like you, am more than just an educator. In my blog space, I hope to encourage you as an individual pursuing happiness and wellness. So who am I, really?
I’m married to my best friend (cliche, much?) and design helper. We don’t have any children of our own, but have spent years pouring into my younger siblings who call us their other parents.
According to all of the assessments, I’m an INFJ, 4w5, Hufflepuff.
I’m obsessed with hot tea, Tolkien, CS Lewis, & all things English.
I’m happiest during a thunderstorm, wrapped in a blanket, wearing a cardigan, and reading a book while sipping the aforementioned tea.
I love being at home and traveling in just about equal measure. I’m particularly fond of the U.K. and Europe and I prefer rocky beaches, deep, green forests and mountains to sandy shores.
I enjoy neutral colors, natural fabrics, and holistic wellness. My husband calls me his hygienic hippie.
I’m a Christian who believes deeply that faith creates incredible meaning out of the most ordinary moments.
