The Mistress of the House of Books was created by co-founders Molli and Yasmine in 2019 as a way for the friends to keep in touch as well as to indulge in their love of reading and discussing literature written by womxn.

The driving force behind MHOB has always been to give womxn authors the attention and appreciation that they deserve. Thanks to this idea, the project has expanded in ways Molli and Yasmine would have never imagined. MHOB has become a community and now welcomes contributing authors with the same values as the founders.

The website has expanded as well and now features several different sections. Our Bookshelves is filled with reading round-ups of what we read and recommendations from our contributing authors. Our Spotlight is dedicated to sharing interviews with inspiring womxn. Our Musings is a place where the founders and their contributing authors can get creative.

Molli and Yasmine are so thankful that their little passion project has grown so much in such a short period of time. We’re excited to see what this year brings!
