Once Upon a Dance offers movement, breath, and connection throughout 28 dance/movement books (spanning ages 3-12):
• Prop-Based Movement Stories (ages 3-6) Imagination journeys using objects such as scarves, rope, bean bags, cushions, or balloons. (debuts 2023)
• Dance-It-Out! Creative Movement Stories for Young Movers (spans ages 4-9) A chance to take the imagination 'stage' alongside whimsical characters in quirky stories with Ballerina Konora as an optional movement guide.
• Dancing Shapes: Ballet and Body Awareness for Young Dancers (ages 6-9) A glimpse into Ballerina Konora’s journey, a warm-up, mini-ballet lesson, and an exploration of detail and form.
• Ballet Inspiration and Choreography Concepts for Young Dancers (ages 8+) Basic ballet technique and dance wisdom.
The books are designed by a mother-daughter duo. Mom taught dance for decades and was honored by her local city council for her work with young dancers. Daughter is a full-fledged ballerina.
