Lynne Griffin
Welcome to my bookshop! I’m a novelist and counselor, and I write family life stories of all kinds. I’m the author of the novels, The Dangers of an Ordinary Night (Crooked Lane Books, 2021), Sea Escape (Simon & Schuster, 2010), Life Without Summer (St. Martin’s Press, 2009), and Girl Sent Away (SixOneSeven Books, 2015). I've also written a nonfiction companion guide to Girl Sent Away for teachers called Let’s Talk About It: Adolescent Mental Health (SixOneSeven Books, 2015), and the parenting guide Negotiation Generation (Penguin, 2007).
I teach family studies at the undergraduate and graduate level and consult with families and schools nationally and internationally about vulnerabilities in learning and preventive mental health. I spent ten years as the parenting contributor for Boston 25 Morning News, and I regularly appear as a television guest expert on healthy family relationships. In addition to my own writing, I have a passion for coaching writers to find and write their own stories. To learn more about my work visit LynneGriffin.com.
