About the Author
Lizzie DeYoung Charbonneau believes it is important for young children to know the names of all of their body parts. To help teach her son about his body, Lizzie looked for a toddler book that discussed genitals the same way as other body parts. She wasn't able to find one, so she decided to write it, consulting with parents, child safety experts, pediatricians, gender specialists, and educators. The result is "Your Whole Body," an inclusive book for preschoolers about the entire body. In addition to being a children's book author, Lizzie is a software developer and mother. Lizzie grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and currently resides in Massachusetts.
Misha believes that children's literature represents inspiration, transformation, and hope; this is why she works hard so that every child will see themselves in children's books. Children's illustrations should visually reflect the kid's nature, appearance, character, problems, and dreams. She dedicates her work to helping self-publishing authors to bring their stories to life. She believes in the power of knowledge, curiosity, and imagination. Children's literature is the best place for starting to change the world. It is essential for children to explore the world, even if "only" through books; the imagination is all powerful. Exciting stories take us beyond our comfort zone, so she hopes to bring readers past their familiar, conventional landmarks and ideas of what is possible.
