About the Author
Ali Shaw is the founder and executive editor of Indigo: Editing, Design, and More, which has aided more than a thousand books on the path to publication, from blockbusters like Kim Barnouin’s Skinny Bitch Bakery to diverse voices like Nastashia Minto’s Naked to legacy stories published just for the authors’ family and friends. Ali attests that there are few feelings as great as the joy in seeing an author read from their book on tour. Ali is an avid hiker in Oregon, where she lives with her husband, three kids, dog, and cat.
Did you write a book? Good for you, that was a hard slog and you should be insanely proud of yourself.
If you're ready to publish, or think you are, or hope you are, but don't have Clue One about Step One, this book is for you.
There are a lot of To-Do's to manage and Write Book (Check) is a fast, informative read on first things first. It's a quick read, full of information about the publishing industry and all the nuances that stand between you the hopeful and you the published.
I'm a published author, have interviewed writers and publishing experts, and am nerdy about all things word. I believe Write Book (Check) makes a solid addition to your modern "how-to" library.
I highly recommend it.

I've been a bookseller for 14 years, and can tell you *all* about books. But all these years, I haven't known anything about the publishing end of it. People write a book and send a stack of papers to somewhere in New York, and then it shows up at my bookstore? That's how it works, right? Nope, that's not at all how it works. Shaw's little book will steer you through the morass of editors, agents, proofreaders, design managers, and so much more. This is a great, concise, step-by-step, guide to help you launch your book out into the world. Maybe I'll even handsell your book some day!

Write Book (check). Now What? is a quick, pleasurable read with valuable information for anyone who wants to or has written a book. As a book coach and writing teacher, I know from working with clients and students that fear of the unknown is one of the biggest obstacles in moving their manuscripts forward, getting them out in the world and in the hands of their ideal readers.
Ali's answers to all the questions new authors have are clear and concise, and they come from her many years of experience in the book and publishing worlds. It's a book that will help writers clarify their manuscript publishing wants and needs.
I will highly recommend Ali's book to all my clients and students.
