Description

A magical mask that won't come off. A masked ball with a body count. And a reluctant witch who'd really just like to finish her cocktail in peace.

The Hollowbeck Midwinter Festival is the event of the season - complete with flying pigs, snow monster fights, and a free bar that no one should trust after the third round. The centerpiece? A lavish masked ball featuring Alaric's famously enchanting (and possibly cursed) masks.

Morgan Winters isn't one for fancy dresses or mysterious strangers, but as Hollowbeck's unofficial town witch, she's expected to show up, mask up, and smile. At least the canapés are good-and Alaric's assistant Finn isn't bad either.

But when a masked witch turns up dead, and no one can seem to remember it happening, Morgan's unease turns into outright alarm. Especially when the masks begin to take hold of their wearers - making them forget who they are, believe impossible things, and, in one case, declare themselves the Fairy Queen of the Farmers' Market.

As more witches fall under the enchantment and the solstice draws near, it's up to Morgan and Ruiner (still a cat, still annoyed) to uncover who's behind the magic before the masks consume the town - and before Morgan loses herself entirely.

Witchfest is the fourth book in The Hollowbeck Paranormal Cozy Mysteries series by Amelia Ash and bestselling author Kim M. Watt. Join Morgan and Ruiner as Hollowbeck gets festive - with a side of magical mayhem and murder.

About the Author

Amelia Ash likes the quiet life. During the week, she works at the tea shop inside a friend's quirky bookstore, and on the weekends, she combs the countryside for estate sales, collecting trinkets, old furniture, and, in one memorable case, a clawfoot tub. In the evenings, she likes to binge-watch HGTV with her life companion: a barely domesticated cat named Lizard, who she suspects might possibly kill her if he could double his size and operate a can opener.
Kim M. Watt Originally from New Zealand, Kim (she/her) now inhabits a slightly different world, crafting funny fantasies and off-beat cosy (or cozy) mysteries in which tea-drinking dragons collude with resourceful ladies of a certain age, baking-obsessed reapers run petting cafes for baby ghouls, and cats always bring the snark.Kim's stories blend myth and reality in small and spectacular ways, where the Apocalypse comes on a Vespa, and the healing magic of tea and a really good lemon drizzle cake is unquestioned. But most of all, her tales are about friendship, loyalty, and people of all species looking out for one another. Because these, above all things, are magic.
