About the Author
The author was born in Tangier, Morocco and emigrated to the United States in 1960, shortly after Morocco's independence. After completing a Ph.D. in Humanities at New York University, Dr. Bensadon decided to become a psychoanalyst and a psychotherapist and returned to school for further training. He has been practicing in New York for the last 25 years. Reading and writing have always been close to his heart. Though different, writing and psychology have much in common and inform each other continuously. "SIMOUN", an excerpt of Where the Wind Blew: A Boyhood Lost in Tangier, was awarded a prize and publication (January 2012) in THE NEW WRITER, a British journal. "SIMOUN" received Honorable Mention for short story in WRITER'S DIGEST 2011 "SIMOUN" received First Honorable Mention in THIN AIR MAGAZINE 2011 The author has also published several articles in mental health journals on issues of culture and identity.
