Ida Vitale (Montevideo, 1923) is an Uruguayan writer, poet, translator, essayist and literary critic, who belonged to the Generation of '45, along with other Uruguayan writers such as Juan Carlos Onetti, Carlos Maggi and Idea Vilariño. She has been a representative of the historical American avant-garde, with her essentialist and symbolist poetry. Authors such as Delmira Agustini, María Eugenia Vaz Ferreira and Gabriela Mistral inspired her to write lyric poetry. In addition, her two great references were José Bergamín, who was her teacher, and Juan Ramón Jiménez, whom she met in person. Maria Flo is a professional illustrator with studies at the University of Arts of Buenos Aires and the Institute of Cinematographic Art of Avellaneda. She has been working professionally in the field of children's illustration since 2019 and already has several books published around the world.
