About the Author

Russell S. Daye is Lead Minister of St. Andrew's United Church, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and a sessional instructor at Atlantic School of Theology and United Theological College (Montreal). An ordained minister of the United Church of Canada for thirty years, he is a consultant for EDGE, the church revitalization movement within the United Church. He is the author of Political Forgiveness: Lessons from South Africa.

Rob Fennell is Associate Professor of Historical and Systematic Theology at Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is editor of Intercultural Visions: Called to be the Church (2012) and co-editor of Three Ways of Grace: Drawing Closer to the Trinity (2010). His life-long delight in C.S. Lewis continues to grow year by year.

"Fennel and Daye are those rare, brave scholars willing to listen to and learn from lay people. May their tribe increase." --Jason Byassee, Vancouver School of Theology

"Why lie down and die when you can go on a journey of self-discovery? This book is not a program, not a litany of how-to's, but an invitation to liberal Christians to engage in a spiritual adventure. Daye and Fennell invite congregations to explore ancient virtues - character traits that have assisted faith communities to find the life and vocation even in a challenging culture." --Sandra Beardsall, St. Andrew's College
