Description
Time's Up! is a memoir by the novelist Robert Cabot, whose first book, The Joshua Tree (1970), was one of the earliest of American eco-fictions. This memoir covers the first 75 years of his long life, coinciding with the decades of America's emergence as a world power from the 1920s to the end of the twentieth century. Cabot alternates chapters of his life (including extensive service in World War Two) with chapters about changes in America, including the counter culture of the '60s and the rise of consumerism.

Reviews
"If I get to heaven and Robert is there, I'll still have a few questions for him. In the meantime, his memoir about a life of privilege and conscience is a dazzling answer to the question of what it means to become an American writer. And as he's still here among us in his ninth decade, now's the time to celebrate the richness of his wild adventures" - Susan Cheever
