Description

Named one of Kirkus Reviews' Best Books of the Year, Thieves of the Black Sea is the fourth book of the award-winning Red Hand Adventures series

Following in the footsteps of The Adventures of Tintin, Rudyard Kipling, Indiana Jones, and Treasure Island, this exciting adventure takes place all over the globe including Constantinople in 1914! The four young friends everyone has come to love encounter hair-raising capers as they face challenges at every turn.

These books are historical fiction, beginning in 1912, and take place throughout Europe, Africa, and Asia. They are focused on middle readers aged 9-12. However, many adults love the books as much as the kids. All the books are $9.95 and soft cover. Thousands of schools and libraries are incorporating the books into their curriculum because they are page-turners (perfect for the reluctant reader), provide excellent geographical and historical lessons, and strongly emphasize the importance of friendship and ethics.

The first book of the series, Rebels of the Kasbah, has been included in school and library book contests across North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Connecticut, Colorado, Wisconsin, and many other states.

About the Author

Joe O'Neill is the CEO and founder of Waquis Global Services, which gives him the opportunity to travel the world and explore different cultures. He was inspired to write the Red Hand Adventures while on safari in Sri Lanka. As he was driving along in an old jeep, under the full moon casting silhouettes of wild elephants against the jungle wall, the image of a rebel orphan in old Morocco popped into his head. While he wishes he could take credit for the idea, it was a story that was already out there, waiting to be told.

Reviews

"O'Neill has an eye for detail, atmosphere, and action...[Rebels of the Kasbah] is a rousing period piece that ends on a cliffhanger." - Publishers Weekly

"An Ian Fleming for the middle-reader set...Readers should feel as though they too are traversing the globe every time they fall back into this fast-paced tale. The pages will likely fly by far too quickly for the series' loyal fans, who will be left waiting eagerly for the next installment. ...A satisfying, action-packed return to the world of the Red Hand and a daring trio." - Kirkus Reviews
