David Topman never expected a newspaper would change his life. But when he finds an ad asking for a small spaceship built by two young boys to be delivered to a mysterious Mr. Tyco M. Bass, he and his best friend, Chuck, race to complete the request. With a homemade spaceship made out of old tin and scrap wood, the two boys report to the funny-looking Mr. Bass and are assigned a most wonderful and terrifying mission - the kind that can only be completed by a young person with a belief in the impossible and a thirst for the unknown.

The boys are up for a challenge, but are they up for the kind of adventure that will take them out of this world at midnight and back by morning?
