The third book in the Alexander the Great trilogy
A warrior born, the only living son of Alexander the Great, and heir to the kingdoms of Bactria and Sogdiana, his destiny stretched before him. Against his mother Roxanne's wishes, he accepts the offer of her greatest enemy Ptolemy, pharaoh of Egypt, to marry the royal princess Mereret. But Egypt is a land of secrets, treachery, and danger. When young Alexander is betrayed by Mereret and Ptolemy and sentenced to a living death, the Irish slave girl Kiara risks everything to save him. The two flee the Egyptian desert and embark on a greater adventure--to return her to her misty homeland to fulfill a promise and crown a high king of Ireland.
