"The squadron is a gang of gender outlaws who take on the universe's toughest jobs and come through without chipping a nail. They find solidarity, sisterhood (with an asterisk for drag queen Butch and gender-eschewing M), and courage, as well as a greater understanding of self, as they face off against evil and triumph in style.... This groundbreaking collection will leave readers breathless with delight." - Publishers Weekly, starred review

"What's remarkable about the collection is the way it takes what could be mistakenly construed as superficial and gimmicky (oh, look, a superhero team that fights with superglamorous costumes and lots of glitter) and shows that 1) there is nothing wrong with saving the world wearing superglamorous costumes and lots of glitter thank you very much and 2) that in-depth stories can be told in a myriad of ways. Not to mention the fact that the stories are rich, diverse, and full of amazing women of all stripes." - Ana Grilo for Kirkus

''I didn't realize how much I needed these women and their stories in my life until I started reading, at which point I found it very difficult to stop. Thank you, A. C. Wise!'' - --Jim Hines, Hugo Award winner and author of the Magic ex Libris books

''What Wise does in this book is build a deeply unconventional though not unfamiliar, at least to those of us who are queer--chosen family. She pits them against a range of monsters disguised as comic and film tropes...or perhaps they're tropes disguised as monsters. There are times when the storytelling veers ever so slightly into metafiction. Like its unabashedly long title, The Ultra Fabulous Glitter Squadron Saves the World Again gives the reader so many things. It's your basic superhero-drag show-family drama-Fifties monster movie-bittersweet coming out story-archaeology adventure-political thriller-alien invasion-mash-up.'' --Alyx Dellamonica for
