About the Author

Dana Saugstad, a librarian and educator turned author, brings the magic of Michigan's Upper Peninsula to life in her debut children's book, The Twelve Days of Yooper Christmas. Originally from Scottville, MI, Dana spent eight years in Alaska, where she fell in love with Alaskan children's books-and her husband! Upon returning to the UP, she saw the need for stories that celebrate the unique charm of the region and was inspired to create her own. Now living in Quinnesec, MI, Dana enjoys family time with her husband and twins, going on nature walks, and listening to audiobooks. With her debut book, she hopes to inspire children and families to discover the beauty of Yooper culture.
