The Stag Lord: Volume 1
Description
On the run across America from a vengeful shape-shifter, Bannerman Bann Boru has only one thing on his mind: keeping himself and his young son, Cor, alive. At any cost. Then he meets Shay Doyle, healer and member of a secret group of immortal Celtic warriors, the Tuatha De Danaan, who live in modern-day Colorado. When Cor is injured, Bannerman is forced to accept her help. He quickly realizes that the golden-haired healer is shield-maiden tough and can hold her own on the field of battle with the big boys. And Shay soon discovers that there is more to Bann then meets the eye. Now, with the shape-shifter Cernunnos teaming up with the local pack of Fir Bolgs (Bronze Age creatures with a nasty taste for children), Bannerman, Shay, her wolf-dog Max, and the rest of the Doyle clan must figure out how to battle one insane god.Product Details

Gideon's Spear is packed with friendship, adventure, humor, and mystery--everything needed for an entertaining and page-turning read. -- Lindsay Eland, author of Scones and Sensibility and A Summer of Sundays
It's rare to find a sequel that raises the bar, but ye gods! Karchut has done it with Gideon's Spear! Loads of action and humor, as well as a formidable new enemy, will keep readers turning the pages right to the end of Finn MacCullen's latest adventure. -- Jeannie Mobley, author of Katerina's Wish
Finn Finnegan brings classic adventure into a modern day setting for a great read. The Celtic lore in the story is fascinating and gives it an extra richness. This will appeal to all those readers (myself included) who love the idea of a hidden and dangerous world within our own sometimes too ordinary world. -- Dee Garretson, author of Wildfire Run and Wolf Storm
If Lloyd Alexander had written The Ranger's Apprentice, the result might have been something like Finn Finnegan. Fantastic! -- Mike Mullin, author of Ashfall and Ashen Winter
Overall, a great choice for adventure-loving readers who refer their battle scenes with a hefty dose of ancient weaponry, ground-fighting skills, and just a touch of magic. -about Finn Finnegan -- School Library Journal
A fascinating young adult novel... Karchut keeps you at the edge of your seat... -about Griffin Rising -- Sharp Writ Book Awards
Griffin Rising is an excellent book by an exciting new author in the young adult world. -- A Tale of Many Book Reviews
Karchut (Kaye) continues her exploration of the fighting Irish in this crip and feisty urban fantasy. Adult fans...will relish the relationship between an heir to the Celtic throne and the young healer, Shay, whose skills are constantly put to the test.
--D.C. Farmer, author of The 400lb Gorilla (The Hipposync Archives)Darby Karchut's new novel is a refreshing glimpse into the often-visited world of Celtic mythology and tradition. It paints familiar myth with new colors and gives us heroes we want to root for--and reasons to keep turning the pages.
--Walter H. Hunt, author of the Dark Wing Universe and Elements of MindDarby sets a vivid scene as backdrop to a passionate story with a strong romance, and even stronger family unit. She had me at Bann's Irish brogue, Cor's young bravery, and Shay's sheer strength of will, then slayed me with the Doyle family. Darby Kaye's Tuatha Dé Danann shouldn't be missed.
