Description
A THEOLOGY OF LIBERATION FOR NORTH AMERICANS Much has been written about issues of oppression and liberation for Latin Americans, but little about the same struggles for middle-class North Americans who feel powerless-those, for example, experiencing problems with employment, money, marriage, and alcohol dependency. Through a close reading of the Book of Revelation, with illustrations from his pastoral experience, Ewing offers readers a Christian view of power.

Reviews
""This is a textually responsible and highly readable use of the Apocalypse of John as a sourcebook for the meaning of power in the individual and corporate lives of Christians."" --John Koenig ""Once in a great while a truly prophetic book is written. Ward Ewing's is such work. This understanding of the power of the powerless, of the Lamb over against the Beast, Ewing squarely places in daily experience in world, nation, parish, factory and family."" --Marjorie Raphael, SSM ""He presents a readable way into that most mysterious of works, the Book of Revelation. Most importantly he shows how the way of Christian faith gives us a creative alternative to the demonic dead-ends which seem to trap us. Don't miss reading this book!"" --John Kater
