About the Author
Toni Runkle and Steve Webb have always loved telling stories. After becoming friends as graduate students at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, they worked separately in the movie and television industry for a number of years before coming together to write novels for young readers. Their first book, Glitter Girl, was called "...an empowering message about striving to be true to oneself..." by Kirkus Reviews. Toni loves scary movies, her garden, and trips to the beach. Steve loves baseball, not-so-scary movies, and a good cheeseburger. Both writers are married (not to each other because that would get weird) and live in Southern California with their respective families.
Raised in South Dakota, Stephen Webb has a BA in English from the University of Minnesota and an MA in film production from University of Southern California. He has been a writer and teacher in Southern California for nearly thirty years. In the past, he has written for such diverse outlets as Film History magazine, Encyclopedia Britannica, DodgersBeat, and the A&E television series Biography. In addition, Mr. Webb is the author of two textbooks for English learners. His first novel for young people, Glitter Girl, co-authored with Toni Runkle, was called "an empowering message about staying to true to oneself for middle grade readers" by Kirkus Reviews. He loves baseball, cheeseburgers, and his family, though not necessarily in that order.
