"One innovative and praiseworthy feature of the translation in The Oxford Annotated Mishnah is that it tries, often successfully, to emulate the Mishnah's economy of language... The Oxford Annotated Mishnah is a significant event in the history of Mishnah interpretation. Never before has such an illustrious cadre of scholars joined forces to create such a work." -- Yitz Landes, Jewish Review of Books

"The true merit of this new edition lies in its scholarly explanations...Highly recommended. Lower-division undergraduates through faculty; practitioners; general readers." -- Choice

"The true merit of this new edition lies in its scholarly explanations... Whereas specialists will appreciate its notations about manuscripts, the annotations make this work indispensable for students and scholars of Judaica or religious studies." -- Choice
