About the Author

Sarah Lynn Scheerger is a clinical social worker who works with "at-promise" youth, helping them figure out who they are and who they want to be. She started writing as a convenient excuse to avoid laundry, and admittedly has gotten a little carried away. She writes picture books as well as middle-grade and young adult novels. She lives in southern California with her husband and children. To learn more, check out her website at www.sarahlynnbooks.com.

Reviews

"Scheerger's novel is unusual in that all the characters--parents included--have immense flaws, but they are treated with understanding, patience, and even forgiveness. . . .a thoughtful story of coming to grips with emotional pain." Booklist, September 15, 2014
"The novel is for teens looking for a realistic story. . . Fans of John Green's Paper Towns will enjoy it." School Library Journal, August 1, 2014
"The author, a licensed social worker who has worked with at-risk teens, creates a realistic and compelling story. . . .The climax is predictable but satisfying and sensitively handled." VOYA, October 1, 2014
