The Music From Our Country is a children's book about a Dominican little girl named Mechi that learns how to dance Bachata from her family in their Washington Heights apartment.

The story takes place on a Saturday morning. The main character wakes up and joins her family for breakfast. Once they finish eating, everyone heads to the living room to teach little Mechi how to dance Bachata.
