Rebecca Laxton has served school communities as an afterschool program director, teacher, reading specialist, and school psychologist. While working for Boone County Schools, she was named the Kentucky School Psychologist of the Year for collaborating with teachers and administrators to write and evaluate an emotional intelligence curriculum. She attended Georgetown College, Eastern Kentucky University, and, most recently, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, earning an MLS with a concentration in creative writing and children's literature. Currently, she is a dyslexia practitioner with Braintrust and lives in North Carolina with her husband Steve, four kids, and three very cute, extremely spoiled dogs.
