About the Author
Mort Künstler is an American painter and the world's most collected Civil War artist. James I. Robertson is a nationally recognized American historian and an expert on the American Civil War. He is Alumni Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Virginia Tech, where he formerly served as Executive Director of the Virginia Center for Civil War Studies. He is the author or editor of more than twenty books, including such award-winning studies as Civil War! America Becomes One Nation, General A.P. Hill, and Soldiers Blue and Gray. His biography of General "Stonewall" Jackson won eight national awards and was used as the basis for the 2003 film Gods and Generals, for which he served as a consultant.
