Reviews
..."Shale's work is complete. To begin with, his Index covers all nominees, not just the winners, of Academy Awards through 1992. Every award category is covered, including technical, special, and discontinued awards. The material is arranged both chronologically and by award catagory. With a full index to persons and films cited, essays on the Academy and on the history of each award category, and several useful appendixes, The Academy Awards Index is a truly comprehensive reference source. Highly recommended for all collections."-Choice
"This is an important and useful purchase."-Reference Books Bulletin
"Undoubtedly the best reference work available on Academy Award winners and nominees. No public library should be without it."-Classic Images
"Shale's dual-listing approach makes this work the single most useful reference tool currently available for indexing the Academy awards. Obviously, The Academy Awards Index is a necessary purchase for all large public and academic libraries and smaller institutions that handle large numbers of film questions."-RQ
