About the Author
Keith Senkowski is an Illinois-based poet, painter, designer, and printmaker. Much like his idol William Blake, he is never satisfied with a single art form or writing style, and is constantly exploring new ways to push himself creatively. His works build upon a love of history and mythology to explore the challenges of the modern world and how those challenges impact our definition of ourselves.
Possessed by the mercurial saints and demons of roleplaying at a young age, the spirits' fever induced Luke Crane to publish his work in 2002 in the form of The Burning Wheel Fantasy Roleplaying System. In the two decades since, he has created and published numerous roleplaying games, including Burning Empires, Mouse Guard, FreeMarket, Torchbearer, Inheritance, and Miseries & Misfortunes. His games focus on the internal conflict inherent within each character, challenging players to fight for their beliefs in the face of an uncaring world. Mr. Crane is an outspoken proponent of design-first thinking in games and as such, over the years, his games have both won awards and caused controversy in the RPG-world.When not making games, Luke talks endlessly about RPGs, practices Brazilian jiujitsu, haunts underground music venues with his metal lady, drinks lots of tea, and plays chess badly (e4). But mostly, he spends his days hidden away in a forlorn wizard's tower in New York City with his cat familiar, Danzig II, perched on his shoulder, devising new game designs.
