About the Author
Leslie Leyland Fields has lived on two islands in Alaska since 1978. Every summer, she still works in commercial fishing on Harvester Island with her family. She's the multi-award winning author of 12 books, mother to 6 grown kids and a speaker who teaches around the world on faith, culture and writing. Her most recent book is Your Story Matters: Finding, Writing and Living the Truth of Your Life which is also available as an online course. In 2013 she opened her fish camp island to visitors with the the Harvester Island Writers' Workshop and the Spirit of Food Retreat where she divulges her deepest secrets to her two greatest loves: Story-making and smoking salmon.
