In 2003 the SKATEBOARDMUSEUM premiered the first exhibition with the title "Skateboard-Fever" focusing on the history, culture and artistic side of skateboarding. Diving deeper into the many facets of skateboard history, the SKATEBOARDMUSEUM has hosted various specially themed traveling exhibits in major metropolises around the world. For the exhibitions the SKATEBOARDMUSEUM had created special zines. Those zines were just available at the shows and in a very limited run. Jürgen Blümlein is a founding member of the FauxAmi collective, which places skateboarding within the context of art and culture. The collective opened the Skateboard Museum in Stuttgart, Germany in 2003. Jürgen is both an artist and skateboarder himself, and has published Made for Skate: The Illustrated History of Skateboard Footwear 9781584233978 and Skateboarding Is Not a Fashion: The Illustrated History of Skateboard Apparel 9781584236306 with Gingko Press.
