A native of Baltimore, Kate Lloyd and her husband live in the Pacific Northwest, the setting of Reinventing Ruthie. She has worked a variety of jobs, including restaurateur and car salesman. When she isn't writing she enjoys travel, but would rather walk the beach with her cairn terrier, Piper. She still misses her dear Welsh corgi and couldn't live without a dog.
