Description

While "Reflections of the Heart" is Anthony Moore's debut book of poetry, he has been writing beautiful poetry for decades. This collection includes poetry about love, beauty, identity, family, and what it means to be alive and loving your life.

Throughout his poems, Anthony recognizes the beauty that lies within all of us. He confronts judgement from others. He challenges that what our society thinks is beautiful is really an illusion. Through deftly written poems, he captures the excitement of the first - and second - steps a child takes, the responsibility of a strict but loving father, and the pride of a parent who adores his daughter.

About the Author

Anthony Moore started writing poetry book because a friend who read some of his work had the vision that he could produce a book of poems that would inspire others. He attended Northeastern University and received his degree in business administration. He is currently working for the Department of the Treasury and has been worked there for 37 years as a field auditor and an instructor. He volunteered for 15 years at as a mentor at an elementary school in Dorchester Massachusetts, mostly working with kindergarten and 1st graders. He helped them with reading, math or just a listening ear. Anthony also volunteered for an organization called SWIRLS (Sisters Working in Real Life Situations). The organization taught Double Dutch, competed in tournaments, and helped the participants deal with life situations. He was an assistant coach, driver, and mentor for some of the individuals who participated. His daughter, Ashley, was part of SWIRLS and won several State Tournaments. His son, Jonathan, was also part of SWIRLS and competed in tournaments. SWIRLS gave Anthony the opportunity to meet two young ladies he adopted. Reviews

"Anthony writes about universal subjects, but for me, his messages are intensely personal. The rhythm of his words is beautiful and reassuring and full of hope. His poems gently remind me of what is truly important. He is incredibly perceptive; his poems give hope. They truly touch my heart and expand my vision." Phyllis Godwin

"Anthony is a phenomenal man. He cares about individuals and has spent most of his life being of service to people. His poetry is a reflection of the way he connects with people. His poetry comes from his heart and touches the heart of those who have been recipients of his work. Anthony's poetry is an expression of the gift he has allowed to flow forth from within him. Allow him the opportunity to touch your heart and spirit. You will be blessed." Robin Moore
