Praise for Put Your Shoes On & Get Ready!

"Good-humored inspiration from heel to toe." -Kirkus

"In this anecdotal picture book, Georgia's first Black senator revisits his childhood, offering takeaways that young readers can step into. Grooms's illustrations have the sweep of murals, portraying characters of varying abilities and skin tones, and communicating Warnock's purpose-driven efforts." -Publisher's Weekly

"...relatable to children, in a heartening, uplifting look at a young man from a humble beginning who overcomes and withstands adversity to become the first Black senator from Georgia. A great addition to any children's collection in public and school libraries." -School Library Journal
